Course duration: 5 Days 

Introduction:
This course content is derived from and in accordance with the following documents:

  • SAE INTERNATIONAL-ARP 6262 document
  • SEA-AIR 4938 (last revision)

Currency;  Composite repair personnel should demonstrate continued competence (every 3 years) by performing a repair or by performing a practical repair damage assessment under the direct supervision of a designated authorized examiner by your or our organization  

Participants:

Aviation Composite Technicians, having completed the following EFC Composite courses successfully or equivalent training: 

  • EFC TECH-001 Basics principles of composite structures fabrication & repair
  • EFC TECH-010 Intermediate of composite structures fabrication & repair
  • EFC TECH-020 Advanced composite repair

Maximum number of participants: 12 

Practical Hands-on:

  • Damage assessment
  • Performing a repair
  • Use of release films
  • Use of hot-bonder & Heat blanket, TC use and monitoring
  • Post repair inspection

Examination
• Multiple choice questions from each of the teachings Level 2-3
• Successful completion is 75% correct answers (The examination will be closed book)
• The practical mark will be the average of all marks gained from the practical exercises including the outcome of the destructive testing of the fabricated test coupons
• All grades will be recorded in the participant individual training records and kept on record at EFC and your company for unlimited time (compliant with Reference EASA Commission Regulation (EU) No 1321/2014)

SAE INTERNATIONAL- ARP6262

a. Currency: Composite repair personnel should demonstrate continued competence every 3 years by performing a repair or by performing a practical assessment under the direct supervision of an examiner authorized and designated by the organization or by having participated in or performed at least six composite repairs in the 3-year period

b. Recurrent Training: A training program should include provisions for recurrent training to continually update persons on technology, materials and other changes regarding composite maintenance and repair. Records of recurrent training should be maintained by the organization and the individual

c. Loss of Certification: If the individual is shown to perform unsatisfactorily, certification shall be withdrawn

d. Recertification: Remedial training and / or testing may be required to become re-certified

'On-Site'
This currency competence assessment can be hold 'On-Site' at your company under certain conditions. 

It will involve additional cost such as: Travel, lodging, daily allowance, shipping / ensuring material and equipment plus 25%. If we do hold this course 'On-Site', there are specific requirements per course regarding the equipment of your company workshop and training material availability.
